OUR STORY

In November 2007, we decided to meet for the first time our goddaughter, Ti. This little 8 year old lives with her sister and her mom on the outskirts of Hoi An. The head of the association Enfant du Vietnam gives us an appointment in the lobby of our hotel for this long-awaited moment. We take a few pictures before learning that we will spend 4 days with Ti and that we could schedule some visits with her to the association. She came with her older sister Ni

FRIENDSHIP AT FIRST SIGHT

From the first day, we decided to visit the city trying somehow to understand each other. Ni had some knowledge of English and unfortunately we did not know a single word of Vietnamese. We walked into the old town and decided to enter one of the many clothing stores in Hoi An. This random shop stop is what started our friendship with Thong, the young saleswoman with very good English, helped us to translate all that we wanted to tell to our goddaughters. Although we did not buy anything, she proposed to spend the next 3 days with her to do the translation and learn all about us.

SECOND MEETING AND REUNION

6 months later, we have kept our promise and returned to see the girls. But this time we stayed 15 days in Hoi An, Ni had improved her English skills and Thong was always loyal to her position to help us communicate. Two wonderful weeks passed-by and gradually we felt our lives were sealed to each other. We made a new promise: to invite all three of them to our wedding in Cuba!

CUBA, THEIR FIRST TRAVELING EXPERIENCE

June 15, 2010, we got married near Havana, Cuba. Although there were many obstacles in obtaining visas and passports, we were married in the presence of our Vietnamese bridesmaid and we will be eternally grateful to Thong for organizing this trip at first sight impossible. (32h of travel for 2 children without their Vietnamese mother, accompanied by a 25 years old friend, at the other end of the world)

THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE FAMILY HOME

September 2011, we bought the land and started building our future family home and we suggested the idea of gaining our independence by creating a small guesthouse. 1 year later, Change of life, leaving France to come and live with our Vietnamese family. A new life begins for each of us.
